I'm not sure how gdb `where xmosaic` would do anything useful,
considering that xmosaic in the sipb locker is a shell script.  :-)

If you still have the core file, run the stack trace with the unstripped
binary in the build tree, and maybe something can be done about it.

I can't repeat this problem with the mwm_user account.  There is a known
bug with the vax/rt in which an invalid command line argument will cause
it to dump core.  Do you set any enviornment variables that would change
the default behavior?  Or is this not happen right on startup, but while you
are doing something specific?
