I'd guess that the `unexpected response code' was `malloc: not enough
core' or `file table full' from the news server, as the recent
additions to the load on the machien has left it badly in need of a
new kernel. I've reboot it just now so it should work for a few more
days - long enough for me to build and install the new kernel.
Jon: The other report of this problem had a more intelligable error
message. Is that likely to be an rn problem, or do you think
this is a different problem?
