Is there any way I can get hold of the old version of XFIG (version
2.6 I believe)? I have some XFIG files that worked fine with the
old version, but now when I try to load them now, I get an error
messages which says that there are too many points in the picture,
and that I should recompile the program to set the maximum number
of points to a value greater than 10000. I had a consultant do this
for me, but the program still wouldn't run correctly.

What happen after he did it? I.e., did you get the same error or a
different one? If a different one, what was it? What kind of
workstation were you trying to do this on?

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me on this matter,
since I need the figures for my thesis and for a presentation which I must
   give soon.

Before I go digging around FTP archives and our backup tapes to find
the old version of xfig, I'd like to try to solve the problem with the
current version. If we can't solve it here, we can ask the maintainer
of the program for help, and he is pretty quick about providing fixes
when you send him a file that doesn't work. So, please let us know
what error you got after the consultant recompiled it for you, and we
can work from there.
