We've changed the thesaurus and xthesaurus in the sipb locker. th and
thesaurus now use the roget thesaurus database (which th was using
before). and the tty interface to thesaurus is thesaurus word-to-lookup
(no interactive mode anymore)... thesaurus is actually a symlink to th
now.
so the stock answer:

7* Reference Books, Libraries, Spelling
5 On-line DICTIONARY and THESAURUS
xthesaurus & for an X-based version,
thesaurus word-to-look-up for a simple text vesrion,
thesaurus for interactive mode on this version,
th word-to-look-up for a more expansive text version.
could be changed to:
xthesaurus & for an X-based version,
thesaurus word-to-look-up for a text vesrion,
