Anyway... I really have more of a question on the reader itself...
If your question is about News in general, e.g., about newsgroups,
rather than about a bug report about a specific news reader, it is
better to send it to "usenet" than to "bug-sipb".
Why do these random newsgroups keep popping up on my reader
whenever I start it up. It's really a pain to have to go through
and "Unsubscribe" to random groups that I never subscribed to
in the first place....
Because new newsgroups get created, and when they get created, you
have to decide whether or not you want to read them.
If you don't care about new newsgroups, then just click on the "quit"
button when you get asked about them, and you'll be unsubscribed from
them.
New newsgroups getting created is just part of the Usenet.
