I was told by OLC to send you this message because I believe that the
xscreensaver on the RSAIX 6000's should be the same as they are on the
vax's and rt's. Why do you have to type your password to get it
started on the 6000's? I went a long time before I figured it was
supposed to be like this on a 6000. I suggest that SIPB makes it the
same for all machine types. Thanks!!
In fact, xscreensaver on the RS/6000 does *not* prompt for a password
when you start it up, unless you are running xscreenaver from the
Athena version of the sipb locker rather than from the sipb version
(which is the primary version), OR you are using a workstation that is
configured not to allow setuid programs from the sipb AFS cell, OR you
are using a private RS/6000 which does not have a password for you in
/etc/security/passwd.
Which RS/6000 are you having this problem on?
