Matt: why do you rule out a problem with atalanta? It sure looks to
me like that could be the problem.
Joe: This might be tricky from hawaii, but you might want to consider
getting an AFS kernel or AFS dkload files for your pmaxen. Before you
complain about this being athena-specific, remember that a lot of
people who aren't at athena use AFS, and you can run AFS the way they
do.
