I did notice that xfig had changed, but I wasn't aware that fig2dev
hadn't changed since December 3. Today is the first time since Nov 25
that I've run fig2dev.
I think it would be safest to say that I'm reporting a fig2dev problem
(one that has been around since December 3). Of course, I'm not
really reporting a 'problem', more of a loss of functionality due to a
bug _fix_.
The main reason I equated the two programs was because I figured if
there _were_ a way to prevent fig2dev from trying to sanitize my text
objects, that it could be with some setting or option in xfig AND/OR
fig2dev.
