Hi,
xarchie just died on me with a SIGSEGV signal. Is this a known bug?
no core dump, but a lengthy error message to stderr:
/mit/sipb/rsaixbin/xarchie: caught a SIGSEGV signal!
If a backtrace (using dbx or gdb or something) shows that the crash is
is occurring in XtNameToWidget() or something similar, then before
reporting an error, please check that your X distribution is up to date.
Xarchie may not run under versions of X that are not at least X11R4
with all fixes applied. Your copy of ".../include/X11/Intrinsic.h"
should have XConsortium revision number at least 1.139.
If you still want to report an error, please indicate your hardware type,
operating system, compiler, and your version of X and include a
backtrace. Thanks.
I'm on a standard AThena (color) IBM RS/6000, so I'm stuck in X11R3.
Sorry I can't include a backtrace at the moment, or even duplicate the
problem. But I'm not sure why it died, it certainly wasn't upon startup.
I'd been roaming the net (successfully) for a couple of hours before
this happened. I'll run xarchie under dbx from now on and pass on any clues.
Thanks!
John Evans
