I think I am the guilty party in this case. I did an "attach
dictionary" while logged into portnoy, and I wasn't thinking about the
fact that it's the webster server at the time. This had the effect of
adding an entry for the "dictionary" to the attachtab, and when the
workstation reactivated, the locker was detached and the symlink was
removed. To avoid this situation in the future, I have added the line
"keep-mount on" to /etc/athena/attach.conf on portnoy, and have
documented this fact in the /site/CHANGES file and in
/afs/sipb/project/office-machines/portnoy/site/CHANGES.
