I suspect this is a symptom of another bug I've seen, when xrn somehow
gets confused about what newsgroup it's in.
I'm not sure at all what causes it, but I have reported it to the
maintainer of xrn in the past. I'll forward your report to him so
that he knows that other people besides me are experiencing it :-).
