Note that I had the same problem on a dialup rt so its probably
platform independent.
What were you trying to do?
I was using was using dvi2tty to preview a dvi file that was created
by LaTeX. Doublespace was in the document style line, but there
was some text inside a \begin{singlespace} and a \end{sdinglespace}
What's wrong:
The text in the singlespace environment appeared doublespaced.
What should have happened:
It should have been single spaced.
