rn on various architectures

On both vax and rt architectures, I've noticed that rn seems to be
using curses, such that text that appears to scroll off the top of the
screen no longer does -- i.e., it can't be looked at by using a
scrollbar to look up farther. Is this a bug or a feature? (I
certainly hope it's not a feature -- I used to use my scrollbar in rn
quite a bit.)

Another bug that I've seen regardless of architecture: When saving a
sequence of articles to a file, (such as the sequence 3411-3418 s
/mit/mjbauer/foo), rn prints the following (or something close to it):

3411

*clears the screen*

Appended to file /mit/mjbauer/foo
3412

*clears the screen*

(and so on, until 3418)
rn used to just leave them in a stream on the screen:

3411 Appended to file /mit/mjbauer/foo
3412 Appended to file /mit/mjbauer/foo
3413....

I found this more useful, as there was the occasional message that I
was saving a null file, or some such foolishness. It also made those
saved articles easier to junk, because all I'd have to do is scroll up
to the save sequence I gave it, cut-and-paste the article numbers to a
new line, and junk them. That doesn't work any more, as the original
save sequence gets blown away on the first screen clear. This is
inconvenient, and seems to be extra work for less functionality, but
is not as important.

Then again, who am I to flame -- I should probably fix these myself.
(yike -- rn code)
