Hi All,
I am trying to install LaTeX on a microvax II running Ultrix 1.2 .
We have had it successfully installed once before but since our system crashed
over a week ago, wiping out our disk, we have had to re-install it. I need
to speak with someone who either knows how to install it and therefore can tell
me what I am doing wrong, and/or who can let me see/ copy an installed version
from their machine.
The problem is as follows:
I copy all of the files from =macros into /usr/lib/tex/macros, as well
as moving latex.tex lfonts.tex and lplain.tex there. I create the
format file for lplain with initex and type "lplain \dump" at the
** prompt. I then run virtex to create the core dump, typing
"&lplain \read 0 to\blort" and hitting [ctrl]\ at the "\blort="
prompt. I then try to undump the core with "undump latex virtex core"
and at this point get the error "Core file didn't come from this
a.out", which I assume means that it doesn't recognize the core dump
created by virtex.
Please help me! I am leaving this job in three days and need to finish a
million other things before then. Thanks.
Steve
