I know none of MY code was hanging :-) (Insert harangue about "if we
had a real operating system with threads, etc..." here. ;-)
I would say, reduce the timeout, with one reservation. Make sure that
failures are not cached, so one-time lossage won't cause that address
never to be resolved.
derek: If the resolve fails, then the address will be printed as the
IP address (i.e. "18.72.0.109" instead of "BEEBLEBROX.MIT.EDU").
