First, thank you very much to those who replied to my earlier mail.
The response from those with valid addresses was overwhelming.
Which is a problem, as I realize I can't process all the
information in a reasonable period of time. I will, however,
try to at least read all the messages you have sent.
A few points that arose:
- IANA has created a template for updating contact information
at http://www.iana.org/cgi-bin/mod_portno.pl
Please use this to correct addresses and please inform
colleagues who may have registered services with now-obsolete
email information.
- Technical information previously sent to IANA was assumed to be
proprietary and was not made publicly available even for open services.
- IANA now requires an RFC for services on system ports (less than 1024)
so that these ports cannot be used for a proprietary protocol.
I would be grateful if you could fill in a short online form.
I apologise for the duplication of effort, but hope that it will be
fairly quick.
