Greetings,
I'm writing today to announce an upcoming change in service levels for IS&T=
co-location services<http://ist.mit.edu/services/servers/colocation>. In a=
n effort to simplify our rate structure and standardize our offerings, IS&T=
will be phasing out the Basic co-location service level.
This change will be effective for new clients of co-location services as of=
January 1, 2011. After this date, all new co-location customers will be si=
gned up for the Standard service and charged the associated rate.
Existing customers of the Basic co-location service will be grandfathered i=
n at the current Basic rate for the remainder of MIT FY11 and the entirety =
of FY12. Beginning on July 1, 2012 (the start of MIT FY13), Basic customers=
will be billed at the Standard rate for co-location service; this offers c=
ustomers of the Basic service an extended period of time for transitioning =
to the new rate and level of service.
We hope that this change will simplify co-location services for all clients=
of the W91 Data Center. If you have any questions or concerns, please don'=
