What were you trying to do?
Have a publicly configured machine be secure against netowrk
attacks.
What went wrong?
Sun's sendmail was started in deamon mode (sendmail -bd)
What should have happened?
publick workstations should not run a sendmail deamon, the
have no reason to, and the only time they hav in the past is when we
have had this problem on the Suns in the past.
Yo, got any documentation, or other info?
Yeah, the line you need to fix is in /etc/rc2.d/S88sendmail
Alternately you could comment out the line, delete it, rm the file, or
perhaps test unlink on it, just please, make the sendmail deamon go
away!
