AIX 3.2.5 memory leak

There may need to be a slight patch to the release to avoid the memory
leak that I have detected in AIX 3.2.5 (which we need to support to
support the new hardware).
Patch will be forthcoming when I have confirmed its effectiveness and
reliability (my current theory is that backing stores are interacting
poorly with the video blanking and may need to be disabled). We MUST
use the video blanking in AIX 3.2.3, since the use of the regular logo
screensaver causes the Gt1 driver to lock up the machine (I have not
tested to see if this bug has been fixed in 3.2.5, yet.)
