If you are a "friendly-tester", you can get the latest and greatest
now...

To determine if you are a "friendly-tester", type:

	hesinfo `hostname` cluster

If the line:

	syslib e40test-sys-71

appears in the data returned, then you are on a "friendly-test" machine
and can update it to 7.1, if you desire (we encourage this, and will be
more strongly encouraging it in a day or so - ie. forcing 7.1 packs on
you).

NOTE: There will be some outage of the packs tomorrow (July 24th) as we
migrate one of the drives from AENEAS to DOT. The outage will occur
around noon tomorrow and should last about forty-five minutes. This
re-arrangement will enable us to do smoothe "vos release" operations
without disrupting your pack service during the rest of the test period.

To update your machine:

    1) Let the machine deactivate.

    2) Hit CTRL-P at the "Hit any key to start" prompt, and
login as "root". The default root password is "mrroot".

    3) Type:
	    /bin/athena/attach -h -n e40test-sys-71
	    /etc/shutdown now

    4) It will take about 30 seconds for the machine to shutdown. After
30 seconds, you will see a warning message of the form:

WARNING: Something is hung (wont die); ps axl advised

       Ignore it.

You should now see a # prompt. Press <RETURN> and make sure a
new # prompt appears on the next line. If it appears on the
       same line, typing

/usr/ucb/reset	(which will not appear in this situation)

will correct the problem. This problem has been most evident
if you force a shutdown from an activated state, with X running
(ie. not following the directions in step 1).

    5) Type:

	    /srvd/update_ws

This may ask you to press <RETURN> or prompt you for other information.
The prompts should be intelligible (you've no doubt gone through all
these questions during previous updates; there's nothing new to this
       this update).

    6) After the update says it has updated the version number and another
       # prompt has appeared, type:

	    /etc/reboot -q

That's all folks!
