I see no problem with deleting /usr/new/lib/rn, but what about
/usr/new/lib/X.... is there anything that depends on it being there?
I would think not, but I'm not certain.

% ls /srvd/usr/new/lib/X
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root 12 May 3 19:25 /srvd/usr/new/lib/X -> /usr/lib/X10
X10 hasn't been "new" for a while now.
% ls -a /srvd/usr/new/lib/news/
total 4
drwxr-xr-x 2 root 2048 Nov 11 1984 .
drwxr-xr-x 6 root 2048 May 3 22:03 ..
There's no reason for this to exist.
% ls -a /srvd/usr/new/lib/rn
total 4
drwxr-xr-x 2 root 2048 Nov 12 1985 .
drwxr-xr-x 6 root 2048 May 3 22:03 ..
Nor this.
