i do not believe that those are marked "removed" should be removed.
instead, they should be commented out with an explanation of their
status.
project athena operations isn't the only group of peole who would like
to make any of a variety of server configurations, and simply removing
these entries makes them candidates for the heap of oral folklore that
we depend upon entirely too much here.
