Error in logs during propogation

Hi,
I'm running 1.4.4 on RHEL 4. I propogate the database every 15 minutes.
This realm was recently put into production and has about 20K
principals.
I seeing the following in the logs on the slaves -
kpropd: Resource temporarily unavailable while trying to lock
'/local/kerberos/var/krb5kdc/from_master.temp'
This occurs on one slave far more frequently then the other. Based on
the time stamps of the files in /local/kerberos/var/krb5kdc/ the
propogation succeeds.
I haven't been able to determine what is causing this error.
