Two _completely_ different protocols/systems.
In short and generalized: LDAP is for AUTHORIZATION (access rules)
and Kerberos is for AUTHENTICATION (verify password).
Longer explantation, check http://www.openldap.org and http://web.mit.edu/kerberos/.
There's probably good information there somewhere (and links to
the RFC's if you want to go really deep).
