Since we started running Arcinfo 6, attempts to open arcinfo windows on color
vaxstations make the workstation reboot. This happened right before an
important demo to the machine in our classroom. So we had to switch the cpu of
the color vaxstation mies with the cpu of the color decstation safdie.
Safdie is now in 9-536, and Mies is now in 9-551. Until and if we ever get the
color vaxstation server to stop crashing the machine, I have to have the most
robust color server in the classroom. That is now a decstation server only,
since the color RT server screws up drawing vectors in AutoCAD.
I thought that hotline should know that this was done and why, so it can direct
various humans to update their databases of where they think machines are.
I also thought that people in the CRL community might wonder where the
Decstation went from 9-551. People can still log into safdie from mies, and use
mies as an X terminal..... Ultimately it makes little difference where safdie
really is, doesn't it.
