Mark as been trying to track down this bug. Since usage is low,
and sms isn't "mission critical" let's leave it down for a day or
so. Mark was scheduled to be back in town last evening, and will
probably be loging in soon.

sms.mit.edu responds to ping, accepts telnet connections, and prints a
login banner when return is pressed, but attempts to connect to the
moira server time out. There was nothing interesting printed on the
console. From the syslogger logs:
