Hi,
I have now converted and offloaded all the important files from our aix-2.1
workstation "amerigo". This machine was granted by athena to run non-athena
programs requiring AIX. Thankfully, I now longer have to support that barbaric
version of unix. So I want to reinstall athena on this workstation, turning it
into a file server liek "cezanne" and "seurat".
This is the hesiod information for the machine:
Desired host: amerigo
Official name: M9-551-1.MIT.EDU
Alias: amerigo.MIT.EDU
Host address: 18.80.0.46
Host info: IBM/RT-PC/UNIX
The machine has two 300M disks. I'd like to make them /u0 and /u1. (If athena
has a third 300M disk and controller card around that I can buy to install in
amerigo, I'd like to hear about it)
We already have two lockers set up in moira to go onto these disks, crlpc and
crlmaps.
I expect someone will have to visit with boot disks since the machine is not now
running any athena kernel.
If you need to know other things to make this all happen, please let me know.
Thanks!
- Rob
