The machine in my office has a noisy disk. Several people, including
mory@athena, have advised me to report this and to request that the
disk be replaced before it fails. I would like to request that the
disk be replaced for two reasons - it makes a lot of noise which I
find quite annoying and bothersome, and it would be best to replace it
before failure rather than after failure as I use this machine every
day (even when not at MIT).

The machine name is m36-287-1 and it is located in building 36-287.
This summer, my secretary, Fran Doughty, doughty@athena, 8-6484, is in
on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. I am in on Wednesdays and
Thursdays. So it is easy to gain access on those days. Acess on
Tusedays and Fridays can be gained by asking at the RLE Headquarters
on the 4th floor of bldg 36.
If you need any other information on this matter, please contact
doughty@athena, 8-6484 and he can supply it.
I have no special files on that disk so nothing special need be saved.
Thanks
Don Troxel
