Lost File - very important

I had a very long lab paper in latex. I needed more space in my account for the program I was running the last two days. So I decided to store my lab paper in a diskette. I did it. Then I checked the directrory of the diskette - it was allright so I said "rm *.*". Now I can't find my file in the diskette. I know you don't like to do it... But Please, because I need to revise that paper for phase II requirement before Fall.
the paper was in /mit/canakyuz/classes/jlab/paper and called Paper (I believe). I actually need all the files in that directory. Last time I modified the file was on May 11th 1992. If it is not a big deal once you recover my Paper could you also recover the files in the /mit/canakyuz/classes/jlab (But these are not so important)..............
PLEASE HELP ME......
