The part has been ordered.  Sometimes the IBM warranty entitlement system is down and requests proof of purchase.  This is not an extraordinary request, and the glitch is on the IBM side of the system.  A subsequent request for entitlement verification was approved by IBM's claims center.  I apologize for the confusion, but don't appreciate the blast (retarded?).

You will be notified when the repair is complete.
