report from the field: day two
in addition to the heavy losses from yesterday (ceres, python, pulp),
our phalanx has suffered another loss today. sadly, second lieutenant
ajax was struck in battle while servicing incoming
computer-to-printer missiles via the lpr queue. after hemmoraging for
twenty minutes, lt. ajax apparently lost all the blood (toner) in his
little, square body.
just when i thought things couldn't get any worse, private fiber
decided to smear all our documentation and reports into an illegible
mess. i suspect that he is a traitor, or worse, an informant.
i don't know how much longer we can sustain the incoming enemy
troops. i look forward to the weekend, when the enemy is known to
rest, but i worry that we might not even last til sunset tomorrow.
