Problems with Athena workstation

Our Athena station (I think it's foram.mit.edu, located in E34-211) is having a problem sending a video signal to the monitor. I was just made aware that this problem has existed for several days now. After boot-up the monitor simply displays the following message: 'Monitor is in power save mode. Activate using PC.' Nothing I do seems to have any effect. I can successfully ping foram.mit.edu, so I don't think it's the machine itself.
