Dear MIT Colleagues,
Thank you to all those who helped out by notifying us of open windows and
doors during last week's extreme cold. Unfortunately, we did have a few
instances that could have been avoided. For example, a sprinkler head in the
lobby of Building E18 burst when a door was stuck open because of a rug.
So, please notify us at ext. 3-4948 if you find any doors or windows that
are not closed tightly. Also, call us if you notice any loading dock areas
or lobbies that seem too cold. We'll be glad that you did.
Please circulate this message to other members of your department as well as
any student lists you may have.
