Hi,

I am the graduate student responsible for the Windows and Mac computers in
the Sidney-Pacific cluster (which also includes an Athena cluster of 2
quickstations and 3 workstation).

We currently have 8 Windows computers in the cluster, which are running
WinAthena, but only 3 Athena workstations. Since Sidney-Pacific is a
dormitory of 700+ students, we thought we could use another Athena
workstation, especially since Athena is running so much software that is
required for coursework and research in various departments.

In fact, you don't even need to install a machine---we would be happy to
have one of the Windows (Dell) machines be added to the existing Athena
cluster. If it becomes an Athena workstation, we will plan for it to stay
and Athena workstation until it becomes obsolete.

We realize that it's possible to pay for an individual full Athena machine,
but what we are interested in is adding a machine to a public cluster. So,
please let us know what you think, and what our options are.

Sincerely,
Dan.
