Early next week, there will be a series of brief outages of the
athena.mit.edu AFS database and top level volume servers. During these
outages, the machines will have additional disks added and RAID 1
mirroring configured for greater fault-tolerance.

The following servers will be unavailable for approximately 20 minutes
starting at the time and date listed:

	 ajax Monday, 6/2/2003, 11:30pm
	 hydra Tuesday, 6/3/2003, 12:30am
	 charybdis Tuesday, 6/3/2003, 1:00am
	 scylla Tuesday 6/3/2003, 2:00am

	 agamemnon Tuesday, 6/3/2003, 11:30pm
	 prill Wednesday, 6/4/2003, 12:30am
	 paris Wednesday, 6/4/2003, 1:30am

All services provided by these machines are replicated, and no outage
should be visible, although users may experience console messages of the
form:

afs: lost contact with file server 18.179.0.27 in cell athena.mit.edu.

and:

afs: lost contact with volume location server 18.7.1.66 in cell athena.mit.edu.

Status notifications will be sent to the consult instance.
