Dear Colleagues:
My department has been through many significant changes during the past
decade, including a reorganization by re-engineering and a name change from
Physical Plant to Facilities. As the Institute continues to evolve, so must
we. Therefore, I would like to announce several significant organizational
changes that will take effect on November 1, 2002.
As Director of Operations, Jim Wallace has tackled several major changes to
his areas including hiring several new managers and restructuring Repair and
Maintenance. My confidence in Jim as a leader has prompted me to promote him
to Director of Operations and Administration. As such, he will have overall
responsibility for all operational, administrative and financial issues
within the department.
In addition to Jim, two other strong members of the department with proven
leadership in their areas will assume additional responsibility: Dave
McCormick and Pat Kennedy Graham.
You may know Dave through his work on Commencement or the Reflecting Wall.
As its supervisor, he has made considerable changes to the structural area
within Repair &Maintenance. I am pleased to promote him to the position of
Assistant
Director of Operations, where he will expand his work with Jim in the
operational areas.
Pat represents Facilities on several Institute committees including AAC II.
She has the vision necessary to assist Jim in our administrative areas and I
am pleased to promote her to Director of Administration, Assistant Director
of Facilities.
These changes will impact all of us, including me. Having Jim assume these
additional responsibilities will allow me to focus on our renovations and
capital building program as well as further developmental work with CRSP,
the Building Committee and the capital planning group.
Please join me in wishing Jim Wallace, Dave McCormick and Pat Kennedy Graham
much success in their new positions in the Department of Facilities.
Regards,
Victoria Sirianni
Chief Facilities Officer
