system was powered down. when i powered it up, the monitor's power light would
only blink green and show no picture.
when i tested another monitor on the system, there was a quick notice about
"input...keyboard not present. using ttya..." then it returned to a washed-out
white screen. i secured the keyboard connection to no avail.
i remember a similar situation a few weeks ago with m4-167-6, but i don't
recall what the diagnosis was.
