Folks,
I Met with professor Dutta this morn and found that he was having some
problems with one of their laptops. it works wireless but not with the
internal card and drop. They use laptops and their own projector with web
based initiatives to support their Architect classroom activities. According
to Prof Dutta these ports were working a couple of weeks ago.

It appears that the 2 rear jacks they were using were deactivated. They want
them re-activated. I was able to provide a long UTP cable so they could use
the jack at the front of the room for now. I have been to this classroom
regarding issue several times. Can anyone help this professor to solve this
problems with the two ports on this jack. For more Information see response
from Vdist-trb:

John,

That jack (2-146-36) is not listed as having any active Ethernet connection.
It seems possible that the professor is confusing it with the other jacks in
that room. The known Ethernet connections for that room are as follows:

room jack outlet
2-146 32 2
2-146 35 2
2-146 34 2

The list of all known MIT Ethernet connections can be found at
<http://web.mit.edu/afs/net/admin/assignments/ethernet-drops>)

You might also want to read case 317250 and Errol Morrison's answers to your
questions in that case.

If they really need this jack activated for network, they will have to pay the
standard installation fees. See <http://web.mit.edu/is/help/network> for more
information.

I hope this helps.
