Dear Colleague,
Please note that due to construction of a laboratory space in Building 8,
access to the basement of that building will be disrupted temporarily early
next week. Beginning on Monday August 19, and continuing for a few days,
asbestos removal will necessitate closing off a section of that corridor.
During this part of the construction, access to the Distributed Mail Center
in Building 8 will be permitted from Buildings 8 and 6, not from Building 4.
Signs will be posted directing people during the construction.
The Department of Facilities is coordinating the asbestos removal with the
EHS Office's Industrial Hygiene Program (IHP). Please contact Jeff Doucette
at jdoucett@mit.edu, in IHP, if you have any concerns about this step in the
construction process.
