The Athena fileserver cocytus will be unavailable for
approximately 2 hours beginning at 12am Sunday, 5/26/02 (note that this
is late Saturday night). During this time, the machine will be updated
to Athena 9.0, and its RAID array will have a failed cache battery
replaced.
All volumes stored on cocytus will be unavailable for the
duration of the outage, and affected clients may see console messages of
the form:
afs: lost contact with file server 18.7.15.68 in cell athena.mit.edu.
As always, status notifications regarding the outage will be
sent to the consult instance.
