I know we have been over this in the past, I do not know why the
procedure regarding the ventilation system for the subbasement is so
hard to coordinate. The only way you can disrupt the air flow in the
subbasement is with a 6 WEEK NOTICE. The fitters should have been
changed when the shutdown was requested on 3-27-02. This procedure
hasn't changed since 1995, and must be followed because of research
procedures. All P.M. Must be done at the same time during those 6
WEEK requested shutdown times. Whoever has the problem in
understanding this please have them call me. We have asked that this
procedure be in writing so when new people are involved they can see
the existing concerns and reasons. Please arrange for at least a 6
week notice for all ventilation disruption for the subbasement of 68
A disruption consists of a one min. shutdown , due to the
change in air pressure which will occur, detrimental effects will
occur to the material housed there.
It's a combination of very simple things that create disaster
or accomplishments.
