m1-142-10 is a `new' black dell with Dell-branded trinitron monitor.
It is exhibiting an odd display problem wherein the brightness of the
entire display is affected by the brightness of things displayed. For
example, on a dark background, if I create a light-colored image
covering some significant portion of the left half of the screen, the
right half of the screen gets noticeably brighter.
