The dev.mit.edu AFS server rattle.mit.edu will be unavailable
beginning at 11pm on Wednesday, 1/31/01, for a software upgrade. The
outage is expected to last approximately 2 hours, but service may be
restored more quickly.
During the outage, all volumes stored on hum will be
unavailable. Clients accessing data in the dev cell during the outage
may experience console messages of the form:
afs: lost contact with file server 18.86.0.51 in cell dev.mit.edu
As always, status notifications will be sent to the "consult"
instance.
