Moving printers between print servers isn't possible on this sort of
scale, since the information is cached everywhere.
We haven't done gmotd's in the past for print server outages, though I
certainly intend to put up an olc motd for the duration of the outage,
which should catch most of the questions from Athena users.
There's no reason we can't put up a motd, though, except that I can't
think of a succinct and non-confusing way to phrase it. (I don't
really want to list printers in the motd, nor does having people run
'hesinfo printername pcap' seem very nice.) Do you want to suggest a
phrasing?
