The Athena bootp/tftp server tae-kwon-leap will be unavailable
beginning at 11pm on Monday 1/17/2000 due to a hardware upgrade. The
outage is being scheduled to last approximately 1 hour, but if all goes
well, tae-kwon-leap will be back significantly sooner than that. During
this time, the machine will be replaced with newer hardware running
Athena 8.3.
During the outage, Sun Ultra, SGI, and DECstation network
installs will not be possible, and HP printers booted via bootp from
tae-kwon-leap will not be able to be rebooted; this includes all public
cluster printers. Any such printers that are powered off during this
time will not be able to be restarted until tae-kwon-leap is back in
service. Printers left running throughout the outage will experience no
ill effects, however.
As always, notifications of the status of the outage will be
sent to the "consult" zephyr instance.
