This date is certainly better than right before the y2k rollover. My
main concern here is that this only gives us 6 business days to
coordinate additional cooling in w20-575a. I don't know about
Facilities, but I expect that for the first two of those I will be
concentrating on final y2k preparations, and availability during the
other four is going to be somewhat dependent on how the rollover goes.
I will, of course, be happy to help with the necessary coordination,
modulo the above concerns.
As a reminder:
Whenever this outage occurs we will need to arrange for backup cooling
for w20-575a. It's probably also worth remembering that the approach
we used this summer took advantage of the large w20-575 computer room
being closed, both in term of heat capacity and physical security.
