The Dept of Mechanical Engineering is in the process of reorganizing the
Papken der Torossian Laboratory for Undergraduate Computation in Room
3-462. Currently the lab consists of:
9 Sun workstations - owned by Athena
4 SGI Indy workstations owned by Athena
9 SGI Indy workstations owned by the Department of Mechanical Engineering
The plan, which we would like to implement this week, is to remove all Indy
workstations from the laboratory and replace them with approximately 20 NT
workstations.

I have discussed the move with Naomi Schmidt this afternoon, and she
informed me that we should not attempt to move Athena owned equipment
ourselves. Therefore we request your help to do the following:
1) Remove the four Indy's owned by Athena.
2) Move the Sun workstations within the laboratory to new locations.

I assume that Mech Eng owns the tables to which the Indy's are mounted. We
intend to use the tables again, therefore we will need to remove the
security pads for the four Indy's.

In order to accomodate our new seating plan we will have to relocate the
security housings to the inside of the table leg on each of the 9 Sun
systems. We would be prepared to remount the housings, but in view of
Naomi's comments I presume that you would prefer to do that.

Would you please contact me as soon as possible so that we may discuss the
issues and schedule the moves,

With thanks,
Derek Rowell
