m2-225-8 broken

I tried to use m2-225-8.mit.edu, and it failed with hostmanager not
responding errors.  I rebooted it, but the problem did not cease, and
there seemed also to be some sort of problem with the athena rc
scripts.  Presumably a reinstall would solve the problem.
