It can't boot. after putting the copyright on the screen, it thinks
for a bit, then puts "INIT: Cannot create /var/adm/utmp or
/var/adm/utmpx" followed by a couple of other messages. It doesn't
respond to any keyboard control, even STOP-A. Another curious thing:
the power light does not come on; this leads me to suspect that the
PROM might be messed up in some fashion.
