The internal disk on daphne.mit.edu (MIT tag no. 291106, S/N 524F02W3)
began regularly logging SCSI errors like these:

Jul 8 15:16:34 DAPHNE.MIT.EDU vmunix: sd0a: Sense Key: Media Error
Jul 8 15:16:34 DAPHNE.MIT.EDU vmunix: sd0a: Vendor 'SEAGATE' error code: 0x44
Jul 8 17:16:19 DAPHNE.MIT.EDU vmunix: sd0a: Error for command 'read'
Jul 8 17:16:19 DAPHNE.MIT.EDU vmunix: sd0a: Error Level: Retryable
Jul 8 17:16:19 DAPHNE.MIT.EDU vmunix: sd0a: Block 27200, Absolute Block: 2720

We've swapped the disk out with a spare, and Ops would like the bad
disk replaced. The bad disk is sitting in e40-008, next to
e40-spare-sgi, with a big yellow post-it note on it. If you could get
this replaced, we'd much appreciate it.

Thanks much!

PS: There's no need to bother installing an OS on the replacement
disk.
